The Pap
Also known as cervical citology, it is a gynecologic exam that help us detect abnormal cells that can convert into malignant cells if not treated in time. It is quick, simple, and painless.
Some recommendations before the procedure are:

Avoid vaginal douching 1 day before

Avoid vaginal creams or suppositories 7 days before

Avoid intercourse 2 days before

Wait 2 months after childbirth

Wait at least 1 month after abortion

Wait at least 6 months after any cervical procedure
Colposcopy
It is a diagnostic procedure to visualize the surface of the female inner reproductive system. The objective of the colposcopy is to identify and plan treatment of premalignant lesions from cervix, vagina, vulva, and perianal region. The colposcopy is an integral part of an apprpriate gynecological exam.

Dr. Leidy C. Rivera Damaso, graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, and graduated as an Obstetrician Gynecologist from the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces (Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo). Committed to the well-being of women at all stages of life, to the prevention and control of diseases, and the orientation of the events that normally occur during these stages. She has specialized in Infant and Juvenile Gynecology (FLASOG) and in Regenerative, Functional and Aesthetic Gynecology (Universidad Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho).
Her passion for this career makes her transmit with affection and empathy her knowledge, but always with the humility to learn every day something new about this career and about women in general, which enables her to provide quality of life and well-being to her patients. With humility and patience she enjoys exercising her career and, when not, she loves to reward that time she stole from her parents, siblings, husband and her son for her preparation.
